NWG AMPLIFY in Demonstration Fields this Summer

By |2023-04-28T02:02:02-06:00March 7th, 2023|Categories: blog|

The new NWG AMPLIFY trait in Demonstration Fields this Summer AMPLIFY is a non-GMO hybrid trait that genetically skews the ratio of female to male plants from 50:50 to 90:10 or higher. This in concert with the hybrid vigor doubles grain and flower yield, as well as greatly increases the uniformity of stalks in the field. This dramatic yield increase and uniformity allows hemp grain to compete with the likes of soy and cotton, opening the door to adoption for food, feed, fiber, and sustainable fuels markets. AMPLIFY is a trait that can be bred into most hemp genetics. Demonstration fields will be growing across the country this season, so we hope you get the chance to see these genetics in action. Stay tuned for Field Day information. Contact NWG for licensing opportunities.

March 12, 2020 New West Genetics, a global leader in hemp seed genetics and local Fort Collins company is pleased to announce the donation of hemp fiber to The Farm at Lee Martinez Park, managed by the City of Fort Collins. The Farm at Lee Martinez is a much-loved local attraction for area families and children to learn about working farm life and learn about the care for farm animals.  Lee Martinez has a host of farm families – from cows, pigs sheep chickens, to horses and ponies. Part of that care is clean, non-allergenic bedding, for which hemp fiber is a perfect solution. Wendy Mosher from New West says “We are proud to give back to our community in whatever way we can, we are so happy that our fiber is being recycled into bedding for the animals at The Farm. Hemp has so many different applications from the seed and grain to the flower and the fiber, this truly is a plant that keeps on giving.” Bridget Brownell, Recreation Supervisor, The Farm at Lee Martinez Park, City of Fort Collins had this to say “Hat’s off to New West Genetics for thinking about giving the leftover plant matter to The Farm for bedding. We appreciate their donation. It is always nice to give something a second purpose!” New West Genetics is a global leader in premium hemp seed genetics.
